TecnoGrabber® Media Coverage
posted in News by TecnoConverting
As the sanitation needs of our cities and towns have been addressed by building sewer networks, treatment facilities and stormwater drainage, new environmental challenges have emerged: water reuse, flow attenuation in urban areas and, crucially, managing overflows from wastewater and stormwater collectors. These overflows carry significant volumes of debris to our rivers and seas. The waste varies in composition, with a high presence of plastics and fibres with very low or very long biodegradability, causing major impacts on aquatic fauna and flora as well as on the landscape. Once in the environment, removing this debris is difficult and costly due to access and dispersion issues.
TecnoConverting’s TecnoGrabber® system is designed to contain and minimise debris discharged during sewer-network overflows (wastewater and stormwater). Its simple, effective design allows installation at most network discharge points with low investment and operating costs.
Public awareness of the accumulation of debris in rivers and seas is growing. This is reflected in the local and international media coverage of TecnoConverting’s TecnoGrabber® system and the first results obtained at different sites. It points to a promising future for this technology and, more importantly, to the protection of our river and marine ecosystems—essential for the environmental sustainability of our economic and social activity.
As mentioned, below is a selection of the media coverage generated by our TecnoGrabber® systems:
